Introducing Veto Simulator

by${author}Brokas

Preparing for a match is a lot more tedious if you have to account for every possible map. The Veto Simulator, now live in the Veto Analyzer, lets you run through a full map veto against any team you're scouting before you step into the official veto.

What it is

Select your format (Bo1, Bo3, or Bo5) and choose whether your team or the opponent holds seeding and goes first. From there, work through the veto interactively by making your own bans and picks, while the opponent’s decisions are driven automatically by the Veto Simulator algorithm. The veto format follows the official FACEIT ESEA tournament ruleset for each format.

How it Works

How does the algorithm predict your opponent’s decisions? It uses PreferenceScore, our proprietary scoring algorithm that rates how much an opponent likes, or “prefers,” each map based on their historical veto tendencies, weighted by recency.

In standard mode, you get a basic veto experience where your opponent only worries about themselves; banning away from their weakest maps and prioritizing their strongest picks. However, if you think your opponents might be looking into your map pool, enable "Opponent Veto Prep" where the algorithm weighs your team's map strengths against theirs. This actively targets maps you excel on and lets your weaker maps slide through. Once the veto resolves, the "Expected Maps" section shows the predicted map pool with a direct link to the Snapshot for each map so you can go straight from veto prep into map analysis.
