Patch Notes April 3rd 2026

by${author}Mitch

Hello! Mitch here with some updates. With ESEA League Season 57 starting up next week, we pushed really hard to get a new update to Snapshot out that will help you get an even better edge against your opponents.

TLDR

Snapshot Util Metric

We've updated Snapshot so that it supports util! Now, you can select the "Utility Usage" metric in Snapshot and visualize what util is thrown, by which player, where they throw it from*, and when.

Note: read more below about throw positions relating to demos parsed before this update

Along with this feature, we've also overhauled our rendering pipeline to make it more extensible and modular. This will allow us to more easily add new metrics as we continue to develop Snapshot into an even more useful tool! In addition to that, it could also open us up to additional features related to rendering data on the map 😉

Snapshot Filter URL State

We have overhauled the Snapshot filter state to be persisted to the URL. This will make it easy for you to share your findings with your team by linking them directly to what you were viewing.

Bug Fixes to our Demo Parser

When building out the util metric for Snapshot, we discovered that the util output from our parser was not correctly getting the position util was thrown from. Instead, it was getting the position the thrower was at the time of detonation. Due to this, any demo that we've parsed prior to this update will have slightly incorrect data in that regard. The util position will still be correct, you just might see a much larger range of positions the util was "thrown" from.

When we get the chance, we'll try to backfill this data but it won't be a priority until we are able to process more demos. We are diligently working to get our demo download quota increased, so bear with us there.

Feedback

As always, we're looking for feedback. Give this new update a shot when prepping for your next match, and let us know what you think!
