Backstory

Like many of you, we love Counter-Strike. But as adults with jobs, families, and other responsibilities we just do not have the hours we used to for match prep. When match days are coming up we do not have the time to check though our opponent's match history for vetos, nor spend hours watching demos to see how they play a map. We needed something quicker; something that could help us narrow down what and how to practice for our upcoming matches.

That need is where CounterStrat was born.

What is CounterStrat?

At its core, CounterStrat is a tool that helps you prepare smarter for your official matches. Instead of manually chasing down all of the data needed to make smart decisions about practice, CounterStrat compiles historical data on teams all in one place. You can easily see what maps they like to play, and what roster they usually run.

Simply put, CounterStrat can help you narrow down what maps to prepare for in your limited practice time so you can focus on your performance in the server.

The Vision and Plan for the Future

Right now, CounterStrat has started small. Our first big feature is the Veto Analyzer, which gives you a quick overview on what maps a team likes to play. This features ranks maps using a custom algorithm we call PreferenceScore that takes into account how a team vetoes as well as when the veto analyzed took place. This can give you a quick read on what map you are likely to play against a team with pretty high confidence.

But this is just the beginning. We're already working on our next big feature: Snapshot, which will provide high-level demo analysis; things like where players typically position themselves throughout the round, what bomb sites they hit most, and what utility is most commonly used, just to name a few.

As we go forward, we'll keep adding new features that make CounterStrat even more powerful and useful to players at all levels of competitive play.

Looking Ahead

CounterStrat exists because we needed a better way to prepare, and we know we aren't the only ones. Our goal is to help players of all levels get one step ahead of their opponents without spending countless hours digging through demos and stats, nor breaking the bank.
